   I normally order the half rack but our Captain, Brett, let me know about a special. I think it was called a Sher ribeye and he described it as somewhere between USDA Prime and Wagyu. I tried it and it was, without a doubt, the best steak I have ever had! The dining room was quite busy and Brett was all over the place but, as usual, he provided amazing service. I noticed that even from the far side of the dining room, he is aware of what is going on and what is needed at every one of the tables he was overseeing. Outstanding professionalism!

   Absolute terrible experience I’ve come here so many times before to celebrate special occasions This birthday occasion was absolutely awful. Service was lacking and for $200 I’ve had much better cuts of steak. Do yourself a favor go to one of the other steakhouses in Waikiki. This is a total rip off.

   Suggest wearing a jacket as their a/c system is strong and we were freezing. Food and service very good but overpriced.

   For the second week in a row, my wife and I were able to join the Hy's team for dinner. This time we were celebrating a birthday while vacationing in Waikiki. The request made for a specific table during the reservation, was kept, and I would like to extend a deep thank you for this! Atmosphere is of a dark mahogany steakhouse from back east. Wood fired cooking improves flavor of the high quality meats. Unlike other high end restaurants, Hys offers a starch and mixed veg option sides, included with meals. Requested a split wedge salad, which was fantastic and a perfect size. Table side prep, bananas foster always an excellent choice. Service was maybe 1 tick, less that what is typical at Hy's, felt like we/they missed keeping up with drink orders and water refill.

   The experience was outstanding. It’s a High quality dinning experience. If Big tabs scare you than skip. Staff is phenomenal and the Food was great. Drinks for the price could have a healthier size pour. Hy’s is tremendous will return on my next visit.

   Every Christmas and New Year season, I made it a holiday tradition for me and my family to come and experience our seasonal holiday dinner here. We missed the last 2 years until tonight. It’s been a great return and just like it was yesterday, the service and the food is still outstanding.

    We sat in the far back corner I didn’t realize existed and I’ve been there many times. Presidents sit there because it is out of the way. Table number 68. Our server, Chris, was exceptional. Manu his back-up was amazing. As always, you cannot miss with the food! Steaks cooked to perfection, Oysters Rockefeller were delicious. Cocktails even seem to taste better when you are being treated like royalty!
