   We had not come for brunch in a little while and so we were a little disappointed in the menu choices and the size of the portions which seem much smaller than before. The quiche was delicious but tiny. Most people would understand the increase in price if the portion remained the same .There was limited choice for our vegetarian and lactose intolerant friends and suggestions to change the menu item were met with apparent displeasure from our server, although when the chef was asked he was agreeable. It made us feel rather uncomfortable. The frittata could have easily been made without bacon for example? It was not explained that the cauliflower soup was not a vichysoisse soup but aerated like a cream cheese. It had very little cauliflower taste and was its appearance was disconcerting. The halibut was well prepared but poorly seasoned- I had to ask for salt and pepper. The desserts and cheese plates were tasty and satisfying. We kept having to ask for refills of coffee and hot water and this visit we did not feel that the service warranted a 20 % tip but it was included. Perhaps they were distracted by the wedding?

   Awesome dining experience! Outstanding service, Chefs tasting menu was fabulous! Great ambience. Evening was phenomenal. One of the best dining experiences we’ve had in years. Highly recommended!

   This is a great special occasion restaurant. Staff is very caring. Place and view is outstanding. Worth going in daylight. Menu is very inventive. Scallops were some of the best I have ever have, although I’m not quite sure of the sauce used. Was quite spicy for a delicate tasting scallop.

   Our experience was wonderful. We had many previous experiences, but it was our guests' first visit. Our dinners were exquisite, the service impeccable, and the ambience as expected. If I had to find a flaw, it was the expanse of the table. We were a party of 4 and it was often difficult to speak across a table that was very wide, especially with background noise.

   Perfect pick for our anniversary dinner!! The setting was beautiful and romantic, the service was excellent, and the food, absolutely divine!! I highly recommend!!

   The food was top notch, definitely ranked up there with a Michelin star restaurant. The service was fantastic and the setting was a quaint, romantic spot for a lovely evening.

    The manor house, grounds and overall setting and atmosphere was pristine,relaxed and romantic. The menu, although limited, was diverse enough for most tastes including ours. It was a very special occasion for us which they treated with discrete elegance. The service featured a young, yet exceedingly knowledgeable, waiter who described the dishes in great detail. His demeanor was friendly and very attentive. Barley Sheaf’s new ownership has certainly earned our praise. We will be back.
