We have been here numerous times, and the food and service have always been exceptional. That said, we thought that the new executive chef kicked it up a notch, if that's possible. Highly recommended.

Our first time here….it won’t be our last. It’s a beautiful setting; I felt like we were in France. The staff were amazing! Knowledgeable, professional and warm. Being able to see into the kitchen was fun! Can highly recommend the duck breast and halibut! I understand they tweak the menu based on locally-available ingredients !

Outstanding service & outstanding food! On par if not BETTER than most distinguished city restaurants. All four courses were phenomenal. Highly recommended. There were four of us so we ordered just about everything on menu. Perfect execution: flavors, plating, cooking. Wonderful evening.

I've always enjoyed The Inn at Barley Sheaf but hadn't been here in quite some time. With the holidays upon us, and a new Executive Chef, Greg Vassos, it was time to go again. And I'm glad to have been there. The atmosphere is always inviting, the service (Kyle was our primary waiter) was impeccable, and the food was excellent. Our party of three sat at a table with a direct view of the kitchen, which was fun to watch, and took advantage of the Chef's Tasting Menu which consisted of: Kombu Cured Hamachi Crudo, Pork Belly, Beef Tartare, Wild Harvested Scallops, Jurgielwicz Duck Breast, and a Whipped Matcha Cheesecake for desert. The only miss, for an otherwise excellent meal, was that the scallops were forgotten. When desert came out, and we asked about the scallops, the staff were very quick to apologize, offered to bring them then, offered to package them for take-home, and offered to reduce our bill. As the rest of the meal was so good, and we knew we'd be back, we asked for the credit as a gift card to be used for our next wonderful meal there. Of the aforementioned plates we sampled, the duck was spectacular, the beef tartare was good but could have had more beef versus potato. Overall, an excellent dining experience ... once again.

Dined here many times. We were sad to overhear a conversation that the Inn had new owners. We miss Mark & Deena. Slight changes to menu, includes a chef's tasting menu choice. Beef tartare 2nd course was excellent, followed by perfect NY strip and duck breast. Staff was huge tonight. Food and service was very good.

My wife and I have been going to the Inn at Barley Sheaf for 15+ years, and we have never had anything except the best experiences there. Our most recent visit on December 5th, 2024 was certainly no exception, other than to say that we both agreed that the meals we had were at the very top of our lists of best meals in our lives - and that is saying a lot coming from foodies like us. To start, I love the concept that the menu is built around the sourcing of the finest local ingredients first, rather than determining a menu and then looking for ingredients. Everything was at the peak of freshness and well prepared so as to complement each other. For appetizers she selected the soup and I had the foie gras (and we shared everything with each other). Both were exceptional. The second course was beef tartare and duck fat roasted carrots. For the entrees, we both selected the NY Strip steak - cooked to perfection with a bordelaise sauce and accompanied with seasonal vegetable, trumpet mushrooms and potato croquettes. To finish, we had a flourless chocolate cake and honeynut squash panna cotta. A perfect ending to a perfect meal. The Chef, Greg Vassos deserves all of the accolades that he has received, and the service provided by Chad was wonderful. We will be returning again. Unfortunately we live 165 miles away, so not as soon as we would like...but it is a definite plan.

This was our first visit and the food was first class. I would suspect the chef is in the running for a Michelin Star at some point in the future it was that good. Beautiful surroundings and service exceptional. We are looking forward to our next visit.

Excellent brunch with very generous portions. Service could use some improvement, it was rather brusque.

Truly outstanding! We were seated next to a cozy fireplace and between the 4 of us, tried the entire prix fixe menu. Service was excellent, courses well timed, and we savored every bite. Highlights: foie gras, hamachi crudo, the roast duck, the scallops and the seasonal panna cotta. As a BYO, bring your best. The food warrants it!
