With Broadway's staggered start times, things get tricky, so if you're desired time is unavailable online, please give us a call, as we hold a certain number of tables for phone reservations only. For parties of six or more, please call the restaurant directly.

Since 1965, Joe Allen has been a quintessential New York restaurant serving a classic American menu in the heart of the Theater District. Just two blocks from Times Square, it has been a favorite of Broadway performers, locals, and tourists for almost 50 years.

We begin taking reservations seven days in advance starting at midnight online and at 11 a.m. over the phone.

Because of staggered theatre times we can only guarantee reservations made online for one-and-a-half hours for parties of two, and two hours for parties of three or more.

Was in town for business and staying at the Marriott Marquis so trying to find something within a few blocks walking distance for lunch was going to be hard I was afraid and then I remembered Joe Allen used to go to the one in Los Angeles in the early 80s and I’ve been to this one before but probably hadn’t been there in over 25 years. Had meetings in the morning and then another one at 3 PM so was going to be challenged I thought for lunch reservation, but luckily Joal was open and we got in and I’m glad we did it! From being greeted to we sat down and then being served by Hannah Was a treat, her ability to connect with her customer, knowing the menu and just a great attitude made the lunch. The burger is still fantastic as it has been for 40 years plus and everything my associates had they were very happy with. Will definitely be going back there if in the neighborhood.

Joe Allen is one of our favorite restaurants! We bring friends there when we can but also we enjoy sitting at the bar and eating dinner talking with the bartenders whenever possible. The staff is extremely friendly and make every visit a pleasure. The ambiance Is great too! Highly recommend you check out this excellent restaurant!

I first experienced Joe Allen back in the summer of 1992, when my uncle who lived in New York took my mother and me out for dinner before Phantom. This was my third time dining there, and I was with my family before going to see Wicked for my brother’s birthday. Everything was phenomenal! We had the burger, pork chop, meatloaf and steak frites, and they were all hits. Our server was superb, very attentive, and handled herself with aplomb - especially the TLC she displayed to my dad who is hard of hearing. It’s easy to see why they are a fixture in the theater district, and you can be sure I will be back the next time my travels bring me to New York!
