   My family and I were so disappointed this evening. In the past, we have always enjoyed Kona Grill. Tonight we had reservations at 7:45. When we checked in, they said we should be able to sit down really close to 7:45. We were finally seated at our table at 8:45. However, our table only had three chairs, so 4 of us had to stand. When they told us we could use barstools from the sushi bar, we ended up having to get the bar stools ourselves. We sat at the table for about 10 minutes before anyone came to check on us. However, our waitress was very nice. Our food came to us about 50 minutes later, and half of our orders were lukewarm. On top of this, Kona Grill has doubled all of their prices, some tripled. The portions have been cut in half. Fish and chips cost $37. I will say this the hostess was fantastic. Smiling, apologetic, and doing her best with the busy crowd. Unfortunately, I don't believe we will be visiting Kona Grill again. We should have paid close attention to the reviews.

   I originally had a 7:15 PM reservation. There was a wreck on the highway so I called them and they pushed my reservation back 30 minutes. What they did not tell us at that time was it really wouldn’t have been a problem because they were running an hour and a half behind on their reservations. We arrived at 7:30 and were not seated until AFTER 9 o’clock. It took 45 minutes to get our order and some of us got cold food! It was loud and hard to carry on a conversation. The server did a great job, but they couldn’t make up for the huge time delay! I know it’s Christmas time on the Plaza, but if they would’ve been honest with us, it would’ve gone a long way!!! I also don’t believe that the quality justifies the price. I don’t think I’ll ever be back to Kona Grill!

   We recently dined at Kona Grill on the Country Club Plaza in Kansas City, and it was a delightful experience. The restaurant offers a polished yet casual atmosphere. We met friends from Omaha there and stayed for a couple hours talking, eating and drinking. It was a great time. The service was attentive and friendly. Our server was knowledgeable about the menu and made excellent recommendations. Despite the restaurant being busy, our food arrived promptly, and we never felt rushed. We highly recommend stopping by for an experience.

   The server was great; super sweet and understanding. We had a 7:15 reservation and didn’t get sat until around 8:30. We waited 15 minutes for water. And another 15 after that to even have someone check if we were ready to order. We then waited an hour for our food. Ordered the shrimp tacos, they were stale. We could barely chew through them. Also ordered the surf and turf, we picked the ribeye, but you would’ve thought we ordered a pork chop. It tasted very bad, there was no juiciness to the steak; the whole inside was a pale gray color. We had to get that comped off, and should’ve also asked for the tacos to be taken off as well, because they were also very bad. Overall, the experience was not good!

   I will not return. I had a reservation for 7:15. We weren’t seated until 8:00. We ordered drinks and food at the first interaction with our server, & we still didn’t have food until after 9:00. Food & service was nothing special. The only thing impressive was the lovely gal at the hostess stand. I’m unsure sure why it’s so busy.

   The service was outstanding! We were immediately seated and had barely pulled in our chairs and a lovely and attentive waitress appeared. The only downside at all was the noise level. It was a bit difficult to visit but otherwise this was a very good experience!

   The starter price is more expensive than the rolls, I am very surprised. The spicy shrimp tempura, the satay and the potstickers are like $20, but they were small portions. So I am surprised.

    So I had made a reservation of course and when I walk in they said reservations are on a 45minute wait I’m a hostess my self and I just wish I could of recieved a call prior about this wait instead of getting dressed and going to this place just to walk right out Came back on Sunday and of course it was a lot less busy my first review was on thanksgiving day so of course it was very busy but anyway Tyler took care of us , he was amazing great personality! Set me up with a cute bag and goodies . Great experience
