It was too loud! So much so that I was hoarse from trying to talk over the din. Although the food was fantastic, the atmosphere was not!

Hello Ignacio, We apologize you felt this way as we tried to accommodate your request as best we could, when you had two separate reservations under different names, 15 minutes apart and did not inform us of this until you arrived at the restaurant. Unfortunately, per your request when you arrived to be seated next to each other, we had to inform you regretfully we couldn't unless you were willing to wait another 45 minutes till the previous table seated, departed. While not seated next to each other you were still very close in proximity and still visible to each other. Please let us know when you come in again so that we can make your dining experience a pleasant one. Best Regards, The La Bottega Team

The pasta always arrives piping hot and the pizzas are really delicious. Service is wonderful. It’s usually booked out like any other fine dining in Vail during ski season but you can often get a seat for 1-2 at the bar or in the bar area. It’s a go too every time I am in town.

We are at La Bottega last night. It was a very bad experience. First, they sat us at a table next to a sliding door that was ajar. It's warm in Vail now, but the wind flowing in from the door required us to keep our jackets on throughout dinner. Then the food - the ahi tuna smelled disgusting and was inedible. The pasta carbonara had little to no taste. The bright spot was the GF chocolate cake we had for dessert. The waiters were very nice and helpful, but this place has gone downhill. Not worth the money.

Food was fine, kids were excited about spaghetti but it had more flavor from a jar. Pizza was fine. The wagyu short ribs…my Chuck roast crock pot has more flavor. The wine was nice, the antipasto salad was excellent and the truffle mashed potatoes were the best dish on the entire table. The value for the cost and flavor are not worth it.

We love La Bottega. We try to make reservations every time we are in Vail. We almost always end up at a high-top table for 2. I actually prefer it because it is by the windows, and we can watch the kitchen. This visit seemed "off" from previous trips. It is the beginning of spring break, so I asked the server if they've been swamped, since it seemed quite busy. She told us that it was a rather average night. Maybe she had to watch too many tables. Our wine arrived almost at the end of the salad course. The salad dressing was so tart that I couldn't finish it (oil/vinegar ratio was off). I ordered the mussels, which are advertised on the menu as a very large bowl, and they aren't kidding! So many mussels that the broth (which was delicious!) was inaccessible until after much shelling. The portion could easily serve 2-3 people as a main entree. Unfortunately, they were way too salty. Coarse sea salt was scattered across the shells, but too much of it. My husband had veal scallopini, which was phenomenally good. The prices have increased since our last visit (osso bucco for $65, probably double the previous price). No wonder we saw so many people ordering pizzas ($22) !! We had our usual excellent time, and we will still go back in the future. I'm not ready to write them off after one slightly disappointing visit!!
