   Not a pleasant experience food was good Waiter did his best We waited and waited and waited for each course Told kitchen staff was swamped. Shouldn’t have been our problem but it certainly was Apparently not prepared for Christmas Eve

   Party of 5, Christmas Eve dinner. Drinks were great, food was delicious, and our waiter Edgar was Great. The Christmas decorations were so festive and cheerful. All around fantastic night!

   It was two days before Christmas. It was clear they were understaffed and some who were there lacked the experience one comes to expect from the cherished institution. A 7:00 reservation meant nothing as they were simply trying (with limited success) to keep their head above water. After checking in we were generally ignored and I had to remind them we were still waiting. Our server was stressed and his demeanor displayed it. As for value it was not worth the price they charged. If you want to be a noisy Mexican restaurant with average food then charge a price that is appropriate. Don't try to masquerade as a fine dining (price only) establishment, it doesn't work out. I get that we are living in an era when labor is hard to come by - did they not know they were going to be short handed before the very night? Staffing is part of running a first class restaurant and that night they were not first class. I have eaten there many times over the past 40 years and most of the other experiences were positive. It saddens me to make this review - I hope it will be constructive.

   Prix fixe for holidays, so menu choices were limited. But it was all well prepared and our wait staff was wonderful.

   My wife and I had a great time at La Plazuela. The courtyard dinning area is fantastic and the ambiance is outstanding. We chose the three course holiday menu and the food was wonderful, service was great, and the overall evening was very enjoyable. We recommend eating here if you’re in Santa Fe.

   All things considered, it was Dec. 22 and crowded. But we had a reservation, which we had to wait 20-30 minutes for. Service staff did their best. Margaritas were excellent as was the guacamole and chips. The rest was some of the worst food I have been served in recent memory, especially when the prix fix menu was our only option. At over $120 a head it was appalling.

   The Christmas special pri fix menu had something for everyone. The steak and enchiladas were fantastic. Great cut of meat. Very tender. The tenderloin Oscar was also great. Pecan pie was perfect. Had lots to take home. The strawberry goat cheese salad was excellent. Wonderful evening with hard working staff.

   I feel badly for SF restaurants having to opt for prefix menu and gratuity included due to the ratio of foreigners but it ruins the experience for locals and their guests. The food was ok and the service was ok but clearly stretched to capacity with holiday overbooking. Maybe a locals menu and top tier servers for them.

    They not tell us it was price fix so meal bad and ver disappointed…. Our expectations were definitely not met.all they had to do was tell us of the change and we could have cancelled the dinner. We canceled the next reservation with them because experience and meal were so poor.
