The Windham Restaurant is proud to occupy one of Windham’s most significant historical sites. First operated as a farm in 1729, the present Colonial style house was built in 1812 and was extensively restored at the turn of this century.     This bears a resemblance to the old Tuscan Kitchen. They've gone upscale. The restaurant was tastefully decorated, unfortunately, the noise level is high which detracts from the ambiance. The staff was friendly and attentive. The dinner was excellent. The food was properly prepared and delicious. The only downside was: -The bartender had no idea what a Highball was (Scotch & Soda) and sent it Neat. This was quickly corrected since I was able to remember the recipe for Scotch & Soda. - I'll assume this was a one-off, out of their control, I had to send the CaesarSalad back as the lettuce was bitter.

    The market dining area is very noisy. The service started off slow - most likely due to the volume of customers at that time. However, as the night went on our server was more attentive and the evening was a success.
