Hamrock's Restaurant is located within the Moore-McCandlish House (built 1842) in the heart of historic Fairfax City. We've been proud to serve delicious made-to-order American dishes using fresh ingredients since our establishment in 2016. We also have a wonderful hand-selected wine list to enhance your dining experience. Approximately eighty-percent of our menu is-- or can be-- gluten-free, as we use only canola and olive oil in all of our cooking. Some of our best-selling dishes are our southern fried chicken, grilled meatloaf, and crab cakes-- all which are gluten free! This is a nice restaurant; however, service was not particularly attentive, one of us didn't get the meal they ordered, and almost everything in every dish had WAY TOO MUCH pepper in it to be truly enjoyable. A true shame because the overall quality of the food, otherwise, was quite good. Generous portions for each of the 4 dishes we ordered. Nice presentation. Just too much pepper.

The soup & salad combination was a nice light lunch. The chicken noodle soup special as well as the clam chowder were both excellent. Service was prompt and pleasant.
