The whole experience was effortless. Table was easy to book, even though we are not based in the States. We arrived early and were told we could wait at the bar. We were served quickly even though the bar was very busy. We had a text to tell us the table was ready. On arriving at our table a member of staff gave my husband a birthday card as I had stated this when I booked. What a lovely touch. We had seen an item on the bar menu that wasn't on the restaurant menu but we were told we could still order it. The food as always was fantastic. All the staff went above and beyond. We always go here whenever we are in New York and recommend to anyone we know who is going. No one has ever been disappointed.

I couldnt have picked a better place to enjoy my first dinner of 2025. For starters, the restaurant is visually beautiful and they perfectly curated the music to create a relaxing ambience. It is clear that management has a particular attention to detail and it is something I greatly appreciate in any dining experience. I was seated upstairs near the balcony overlooking the downstairs dining area. It felt intimate but still lively. My server was Alecta and she was absolutely incredible. She made solid recommendations and checked in regularly to ensure I was enjoying my dining experience. The food was a 10/10 and came out quickly. I ordered the lobster bisque and the 12oz Australian ribeye. At no point did I have to ask for anything because the staff was so attentive. I will absolutely be returning and I 100% recommend to anyone.

Wonderful food and amazing staff. The food arrived on time with large size portions. The staff are very friendly and flexible. The wait time with a reservation was less than 5 minutes. Very convenient and family friendly.

Dropped-in with my wife and our 14-year old daughter for lunch on a dark and blustery New Year’s Day. Island is a warm, cozy, elegant but comfortable, neighborhood bistro. We enjoyed a terrific meal with great service. Island is the sort of place we would visit weekly if we lived in the neighborhood. We look forward to returning to enjoy dinner there in a future visit to the UES. Highly recommended!
