- EelenaVIPLos Angeles •5 reviews5.0Dined 1 day agoVery homey place (where Aunt Mary’s used to be)with warm skillful service. The food is great. We had the family meal for the table ($75 per person). It was fried petrale sole with lots of accompanying side dishes. First course was boiled peanuts in a delicious sauce. Peanuts were soft and yummy. The dessert was amazing. They called it a panna cotta but it was more custardy and topped with a few pomagrant seeds and a tiny amount pomegranate granita. It was very good and we ate it all even though we were very full.More infoBurdellPrice: Very Expensive• Soul food• Oakland•4.5

If i had to complain about something it would be the olive oil on the chocolate cake. I will go back many times and encourage you to go too.More infoACRE Kitchen and BarPrice: Moderate• Mediterranean• Oakland•4.6
- TTomVIPSan Francisco Bay Area •23 reviews5.0Dined 3 days agoWho knew vegan food could taste this good?! As a relative newcomer to the vegan world, I was pleasantly surprised at the quality and tastiness of the food here. As appetizers, we had a red lentil soup and a breaded (but not fried) mushroom dish that reminded us of fried calamari. We had a mushroom main course and the Alfredo pasta, both of which were excellent, as were the Brussels sprouts (which used a tempeh sausage in lieu of the usual overly heavy bacon). The desserts too were better than expected, especially the chocolate pie. The service was friendly and attentive without being cloying. We had a reservation for the dining room, but they suggested we take patio seating instead. That proved to be a good recommendation. It was much quieter out there, and the heaters and available blankets offset a bit of chilliness. The dining room meanwhile, was pretty noisy. The meal was a bit pricey but definitely worth it for a special occasion. We will return.More infoMillennium OaklandPrice: Expensive• Vegan• Oakland•4.7
- KKristiSan Francisco Bay Area •11 reviews4.0Dined 5 days agoThe service was fantastic! Unfortunately the place was very very noisy And we strained to hear each other talk. They tell me that new management is coming in and we very much hope they will put in carpets and acoustical tile so that we can enjoy this place much more.More infoLimewood Bar & RestaurantPrice: Expensive• Unspecified• Berkeley•4.4
