- MMichelleGreater Boston •2 reviews5.0Dined 1 day agoWe've been here a few times and every time has been an outstanding experience. The ingredients are always of good quality. My favorite broth is their Guizhou Red Suantang. This fermented tomato-based broth has plentiful aromatic Chinese herbs and is a stand-out broth for its tangy and complex flavor that you won't forget! I wish I could bottle it and take it home! I've also tried their black bone chicken broth and classic mala, both are good "old reliables" - the classic mala gets hotter the longer it's been cooking! Each time we've been the service has been attentive without being smothering, all the vegetables are fresh, fresh, fresh! The housemade shrimp paste is wonderful, and the spicy dumplings are some of the best I've had anywhere. I love that you can get a great variety of mushrooms with their platters, their black fungus never disappoints, always big, plump, and succulent! Don't sleep on the fish roe salad balls, they are DELICIOUS, but be careful not to cook them too long or the liquid center becomes molten hot. Highly recommend making reservations, it gets BUSY here and for good reason!More infoThe Q RestaurantPrice: Expensive• Asian• Theater District•4.7

- JJohnGreater Boston •2 reviews5.0Dined 5 days agoThis was our first visit at Ostra. We celebrated our niece's birthday. Thank you for the lovely touch of placing a hand written birthday wish on the table. Our server Christopher and his colleagues were wonderfully attentive but also allowed us to pace through our dinner in a relaxed manner. We enjoyed the gnocci with lobster. The arugula salad (a special last night). We enjoyed the monkfish entree and also enjoyed the oven roasted branzino. We also ordered the shishito peppers and the delicious side of mushrooms. We ordered a chocolate torte in advance of the meal as a mini birthday cake. Thank you for a lovely evening.More infoOstraPrice: Moderate• Seafood• Back Bay•4.9
- TTomDetroit / Eastern Michigan •15 reviews5.0Dined on Nov 23, 2024Estella was wonderful. My wife and I are foodies and in Boston for a conference. We were looking for something unique and comfortable. Estella offered a twist on traditional flavors that was wonderful. We started with drinks. The seasonal blueberry harvest was a delicious gin cocktail that was a perfect balance of sweet sweet and herbaceous deliciousness of gin. My better half had a Nearest to Me which was a delicious whisky shaken with lemon and ginger ale. We ordered the Parm garlic yucca fries with their delicious aioli…and I could’ve eaten another plate. For our meals I had the blackened salmon tacos. The flavors were delicious. The salmon was cooked well and the banana peppers and aioli balanced each other while the crispy onions added a welcome crunch to the lettuce wrapped tacos. My wife had the Shorty and Mash. My god was that a delish bite. The short rib was fall off the bone tender on top of delicious buttery mash. The sauce was a mustard and vinegar base and was unexpectedly delicious cutting through the richness of the beef. The toffee cake was a shared dessert to end the night. Service was attentive and friendly from both our server and management. It was loud but not off-putting and its always great when you leave a restaurant happy with what you had but eager to experience other flavors on the menu.More infoEstellaPrice: Expensive• American• Beacon Hill•4.1
