Excellent food and service in a vibrant atmosphere. The staff including Stacie are extremely friendly and helpful

Loved everything was wonderful! However we were sat at a tiny table in corner by window and we could not move our legs. Very uncomfortable. That table looks right at the table 3 feet away. Felt like I was apart of their conversation. I am sure they felt like they were being spied on.

We had not been to J. Gilbert's for a number of years. We found we had been missing one of KC's most wonderful dining experiences. The meal was outstanding and delicious with excellent steaks cooked strictly to order. J. Gilbert's has a large wine list which features varieties of all types at many price levels. Service was very, very good and great service is hard to find these days. The physical beauty, warmth and vibe are welcoming and charming. The place reminded me of how steakhouses used to be and how they should be now for today's guests.

Had an early lunch there mid-week; it was fairly quiet; seated by the fireplace was great! Server was very helpful and attentive. I had the grilled brie, pear, and bacon sandwich. It was excellent. We were not rushed, and had a very enjoyable meal.

The bar manager was so gracious, showed me how to make one of her specialty drinks for an upcoming party!
