Restaurants near Block Island National Wildlife Refuge

Food was exceptional. We had the Caesar salad and octopus for first course, swordfish and filet mignon for main course, cheesecake and crème brûlée for dessert. All the dishes were delicious. Sweater weather was one of the best tasting cocktails I’ve ever had. Northern lights drink was just okay.

We started in the bar area and loved it so much we ended up spending the whole night there. Bar staff were amazing and would definitely recommend it.

Four of us dining and all loved our meals. The bavette steak, one on a delicious blue cheese salad and one as an entree with crispy potatoes and green beans with onion jam was well seasoned and cooked as we wished. Mmm. The others had the salmon with lentils and beet purée (well cooked and delicious) and the pasta Genovese (savory and with deep flavors). There are ample wines to go with all on the menu and the chocolate tort was amazing. A wonderful meal with great service - I always feel welcomed and cared for at Celeste.

The Barn, especially in winter, is like visiting a friend’s home. Annie, working the very cosy bar as you enter, is there to welcome everyone, whether an islander, a weekender or a lucky newcomer just discovering the island..bound to meet someone, an old friend or a new one, food is season suitable and good..always a special or three, prepared by a trio of chefs in an open kitchen. Julie served us tonight..prompt, good at her job, and just chatty enough, she managed our meal perfectly.. A lovely evening

Wonderful dinner at Winfield's. Highly recommend the cod, and the salmon entrees, as well as the seasonal pumpkin cheesecake, and the berry cobbler with homemade sage ice cream. Julie, our server, was perfect. Great conversational dialog. Only 'negative', and was minor, the Tuna Tartare appetizer was somewhat bland, and the wonton triangle 'chips' were slightly overcooked. Could have used a bit more spice, and 1 or 2 more chips. Still, Winfield's is one of our favorites on Block Island.
