Lost Watering Hole, The Lancefield Brewery was born from a tiny idea two mates from Lancefield had one day whilst having a beer… “Let’s open a brewery!” They never expected that one day, several years later, Lost Watering Hole, The Lancefield Brewery would become the special place it is today. It all began in 1888, when Henry Lindsay bought the former flour mill in Lancefield and converted it into a brewery (God bless him…). Lindsay trademarked the name ‘The Trent Brewery’ and began producing both alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages. In the years that followed, the brewery changed hands many times, continuing to trade until early 1898, when it seems both the building and equipment were put up for auction, although it did not find a buyer. Sadly, a mysterious fire gutted the building the night after the auction, signalling its closure. Gladly, our brewery is lost no more… Today, we are proud to welcome you and your friends to Lancefield’s brewery, Lost Watering Hole.

Beautiful venue, kitsch and quirky on the outside, elegant relaxed contemporary style inside. Staff were friendly, attentive, and very helpful. We loved that most dishes were small and for sharing, so we could try most items on the menu, and the food and drinks were lovely. We would definitely come back here!

Went here on a first date last night, even though the company was meh, the food was the most incredible food I’ve had, the pasta (which name I cannot pronounce) was orgasmic, my date had fish (he strange) but he boasted about it and cleared his whole plate, we also had chips incase but we did not need them because our food was SCRUMDIDILYUMPTIOUS. The service was amazing, staff checked in on us frequently and gave us a new water once we devoured ours (we are fish). Dessert was bomb, it was the strawberry sundae and oh my gosh I was about to leave my date and take that sundae home instead. The people next to us were also definitely on a first date so that provided some entertainment, so awkward lol. Overall great restaurant, so beautiful in there, very gorgeous. The food is top notch and the people are exquisite. 10/10 would munch again

Today’s lunch is the second time we have eaten at the woodhouse and while the meals were very good the menu hadn’t changed in that time. It would be nice if the meals are providing seasonal rates that the menu could change in that time.
