In 1959, Frank and Tina D'Ambrosio decided to start a new restaurant venture along with their "Paisans" Mario and Enza Volpe, after Frank had much success with his first restaurant, the original "Frankie, Johnnie, and Luigi Too! In Mountain View, CA. Named after a good friend of theirs, they opened the original "Giorgio's" in the Foxworthy Shopping Center in San Jose, CA. One year later, cousins Anthony and Louise Dambruoso, affectionately known to the family as "Sash and Lou", took control of the restaurant and ran it for the next eight years. Pictures and paintings of these folks still grace the walls of the establishment today. In 1968, Frank's four sons assumed control of the restaurant and still own and operate it to this day. In 1997 they opened a second location in Milpitas, CA, in 2023 another in Morgan Hill and now back in Mountain View, where they still offer the highest standard of quality food, service, and value to their customers.     We dined at La Fontaine on Saturday night. I had the duck, and my wife had a pasta dish with seafood (pappardelle?). It was easily the best duck I've ever had, and my wife was very happy with her seafood. The restaurant is classy, clean, and quiet enough for a lovely conversation, and the service is excellent.

    The Thanksgiving prix fixe was a great value. We ate vegetarian which included a pear salad, chestnut soup, roasted cauliflower and a squash stew. All were very good. The restaurant was fully staffed and very attentive.

    Newly reopened restaurant with a wonderful open air dining area available. Very good and friendly service. The Cacciucco was very good and included fresh clams, prawns, calamari, shrimp & white fish simmered in natural juices with a light tomato broth over spaghetti al dente and garlic toast. The Chicken Marsala had medallions of chicken sautéed with garlic, shallots and mushrooms, and green onion served in a marsala demi-glaze with garlic mashed potatoes and vegetable aglio olio. Both dishes had balanced tastes and were presented well.
