Walk-in's always welcome! Screen Door is a restaurant that presents itself as a love letter to the American South and the revival of regional cooking. Each day, the restaurant receives natural, local organic meats and produce from nearby vendors. The inclusion of regional Pacific Northwest ingredients into a menu of dishes developed in the south has created a unique flavor profile in Screen Door's menu. Many of Screen Doors dishes draw their inspiration from Louisiana and the Cajun cooking that's found there. These include our world-famous fried chicken, Lowcountry shrimp and grits, smoked andouille chicken gumbo and fried okra.     Great service and food. You can never go wrong here. The only negative is that the tables are permanently affixed to the floor. They squish you against the wall if you are an average or above person.

    Probably the best food and cocktails in Portland. That is saying a lot. Gorgeous ambiance and very good service. Highly recommend the lychee martini and scallops. Creative, high level flavors and presentations. Only dings are the menu on QR codes or flimsy unreadable paper. So, phone lights going on all over the tables. Also, the corkage fees exceed NYC, ($120 for 2 bottles) so we passed on our favorite bottles saved for birthday celebration from home cellar.

    I have been coming to Jake’s since 1984 when I lived in town and when I visit… I don’t know how, but somehow, it’s still the same wonderful vintage yesterday year elegant restaurant. It has always been in the food remains superb. The service is impeccable. The Landry’s corporation has done a great job in allowing Jake’s to retain its unique and distinct personality.
