Restaurants near Church of St. Francis of Assisi

Friendly staff, good food (really liked the seared fish sandwich) and the noise level was low. The prices were also pretty good: a tiny bit high. My only complaint was about the dessert menu, which wasn't very inspired. And the brownie was dry. We felt a bit rushed with a 9:00 closing, which is especially early for a place serving dinner, in a tourist area near Macy's, and during the holidays.

A friend introduced me to this restaurant over the summer and it’s been one of my favorites whenever I come back to NYC to catch up with friends. I love the explosive flavors, delicious cocktails, and the music they played had me bopping my head while eating. Ray was a great waiter checking in to make sure I was enjoying my meal and had everything I needed. I always enjoy my dinners here because the staff is wonderful and gives excellent recommendations.

There were 10 of us & we had made reservations at 5 pm as we had 7 pm theater tickets. Our table was ready for us upon arrival & our waiter was friendly & on point from start to finish. Service was great without feeling rushed & his wine suggestion was perfect. The portions are huge so we started with the calamari & Caesar salad which was plenty for all of us & both very good. We chose 4 dishes, Chicken Parmesan, Chicken Scaloppine, Rigatoni & Broccoli, & Penne alla Vodka & all were delicious. We all commnted that the Penne was the best we’d had as the sauce was not too heavy & perfectly spiced. Although we could have only ordered 3 dishes, we all enjoyed the variety of the 4 choices. We finished off with cappuccinos for the table & made it to the theater with 15 minutes to spare. We couldn’t have picked a better restaurant & the bonus was it was very reasonable. Food was exceptional and service flawless!!! David was our server and was very attentive but not overbearing and was also very knowledgeable about the food and its ingredients. A spot not to miss while in NYC!

The service was absolutely phenomenal, yet again! Perfect for the Holidays! The Hostesses were friendly and welcoming - they read my notes which I appreciated. Our server was the cherry on top, knowing exactly what drink I wanted without any explanation—most places, I have to describe what a Kerryoael is, but he nailed it right away. Loved that little detail. Plus, getting extra salted nuts was a fun little bonus! I’ll definitely be back again!
