We are a first come first serve all day restaurant. Walk-ins of all party sizes are encouraged at any time! Our journey started on a quiet West Village street called Carmine. Two brothers, Dave and Pete, made a bold decision. Without any business experience, any real plan, or anything resembling a thought beyond getting through the day, we opened a restaurant. What we had lacked in experience we made up for with spirit and creativity. We did not want to be businessmen. We were artists. Our little shop at 33 Carmine St. was our original canvas. We set out with a simple mission: to create a place where people would want to be. We named it after our dogs, Moose and Goose Lane.

Strip House Speakeasy is located in the space next to the original Strip House in Manhattan’s Greenwich Village. Set in glamorous backdrop of the Roaring Twenties & Prohibition Era, 11 East 12th Street was one of the thousands of illegal speakeasies supplying NYC with Libations & Liberation. Its hidden connection to the room above - 13 East 12th Street - helped spark its success for when officers arrived with a search warrant in hand, they were only able to gain entrance to the physical address listed - ‘13 East’...not ‘11’.

T- Bone Steaks and is a favorite among many celebrities including F. Murray Abraham, Chris Noth and Alec Baldwin. Racheal Ray listed us in her "NYC Favorites" and has praised our Shrimp Cocktail, Creamed Spinach, and of course our T- Bone Steaks. The word "Knickerbocker" itself, says "New York". Upon entering, you’ll know you're in the Village. Its wood paneled walls sport rare turn of the century posters and original caricatures by Al Hirschfeld. Large leather booths line the walls and brass rails accent the 100 year old marble bar, where Charles Lindbergh signed his Trans Atlantic contract. We have survived the times by using the freshest ingredients from local markets, and offering good solid value and quality.

David, my server was amazing! His assistance was helpful in deciding what to order. He’s just a great person! The only drawback was it was very cold inside but the cup of hot chocolate quickly warmed me up.

Amazing. Great food, great atmosphere, great service! It just feels like the place to be. I was here back in 2019 and it had the same exact vibe! Highly recommend. The noise level varied based on the time while there. We were there 7-11ish and it was very loud from 8:45ish-10:15ish with a fun-looking crowded bar area (great for people watching)… but honestly it all only added to the charm and cool speakeasy feeling of it all. Everything we ate was spectacular so even when it was louder we were so busy enjoying our food, drinks and conversation that it didn’t matter. The decor and the music are also wonderful. Oh and DEFINITELY get the chocolate cake! It’s 12 layers tall and out of this world. It was my bday and it was perfection. Love this place so very much!
