Restaurants near Collins Street Playground

We have been customers of the black cow for years, both here and the one in HW, and it feels like they have really hit their stride recently. We have a number of favorite items on the menu which have always been done perfectly— the cauliflower app and the sushi are highlights. The drinks are great. And the service is wonderful too. The manager went out of his way to reassure us that it was OK that we lingered and continued chatting long after we finished our meal. He kept refilling our waters, and giving a friendly chat when many other places seem to rush us out the door by 9 PM anymore. 

Excellent oysters and lobster rolls! A great experience

We requested a quiet table and were shown to a corner table with a water view. It must be gorgeous when the weather is warm and sunny since it has an outside deck overlooking the river. Service was prompt and very accommodating since we had to warm up with hot tea before even looking at the menu. Our server was great. Friendly and patient. Food was really good and we enjoyed everything. The warm cookie pie, even shared 3 ways, was a perfect sweet ending. Would go back anytime.

No matter who is in the kitchen, the dishes our excellent. THE OWNER AND chef with his TEAM have created an amazing ambience combined with good food, a taste of Italy. We ended the evening with a walk to Liretta’s for dessert, suggested by a staff member!
