Restaurants near Excelsior Playground

A lovely, upscale, Mexican restaurant, with dishes taken to another level. Ambience is great, as well as the service. I got a last minute reservation, and we will be back often…you won’t be disappointed!

Always, always, always one of the best dining experiences you will ever have.

The ambiance was great, however there was a noticeable delay between our starters and entrees coming out. We ordered oysters - which were fresh, baked cheese and warmed olives, and the focaccia was deliciously herby. Swordfish, duck, and two steak frites were ordered as mains, all arrived together however the fries were dry and cold (as compared to the steak on the same plate). Overall the food and drinks were delicious.

We had a wonderful dinner — calamari and Caesar salad for the table. Shrimp scampi, chicken parmigiana with prosciutto and spicy vodka sauce, Cacio Pepe with prawns, and spicy rigatoni with prawns. Everyone enjoyed their meals immensely.

This was the best Italian food I have had in San Francisco by a wide margin. The service and wine selection is also fantastic.
