Our server, Lee, was well informed and friendly...he really made it a perfect night. All of his recommendations were spot on...from wine to apps to entree...everything he directed us to try was superb. - AAmyAustin •2 reviews5.0Dined on Dec 24, 2024We enjoyed a special Christmas Eve dinner here as a family. We enjoyed the cheese flight & the prosciutto flight for apps. Collectively, our meals included lobster, the pork chop entree, the sea bass entree, and the scallop entree. We shared the brussels and the crab mac & cheese. This was the most expensive meal we've ever eaten or as a family and it was worth every penny. We were too full for dessert, but the options all sounded incredible. To our surprise, the most delicious warm cookies were brought to our table right before our check. Best cookies ever! Highly recommend!More infoGuard and Grace - HoustonPrice: Expensive• Steakhouse• Downtown•4.8
- TTeresaAustin •2 reviews5.0Dined on Dec 24, 2024We arrived a little early for our reservation. We got a very friendly and informative greeting, and then we sat at the bar to have some drinks and look at the menu while we waited. Everyone was helpful and informative, including our main server. Here's what we got: Bangkok 75 My favorite of the drinks we had. Very dry but tasty and a great accompaniment to some of the richer food we had. STK Old Fashioned I was intrigued by the tobacco, but now I know that is not something I need to seek out. However, it was a good drink and was as described. The Sukhumvit A nice tasty cocktail. I might enjoy this one if I were not eating food alongside it, but as a pairing for a meal, it was more competitive than complimentary. Not a dig on the cocktail, just saying I think it is better on its own. Lamb Shank Massaman This was super tasty and rich without being heavy or overwhelming. Such a balanced dish with so many good flavors. I would love to have this again. It was not served with a knife, and in retrospect, I don't know why we didn't ask for one since we did get one with the Khao Soi. Khao soi Sounded great and I'm glad we tried it, but it was maybe my least favorite dish that we tried. It was good, it just wasn't up to how excellent the other dishes were. The beef was in large pieces in the bowl and was a little difficult to wrangle. They did bring one knife for the table, but maybe each person could use a knife. Pad See Ew Another amazing dish. I especially loved the texture of the noodles. I would get this again for sure. Garlic Green Beans Very good! Good combination of textures and flavors. Curry corn cake I did not try these, but the people who did thought they were ok. They said they would not get them again. Like with other things, they weren't bad, there were just better things. Mango Sticky Rice I really enjoyed this. The rice was perfect, and I appreciated that it was not super sweet. The savory notes along with the perfect mango were great.More infoStreet To KitchenPrice: Expensive• Thai• East End•4.7
- LlaurieHouston •51 reviews5.0Dined on Dec 23, 2024The food is the best sushi in America. I go to restaurants in NY, LA, Vegas, Miami. This is the best sushi in the country. The dishes are creative and prepared like you would find at a Michelin-star restaurant. I have gone here for Christmas, New Years Eve, Anniversary, Birthday over the years. Always a great. Not inexpensive, but worth every dollar for the quality. Drinks are creative. If you are z champagne drinker they even have my favorite, Ruinart. The only opportunity was we brought a baby and a little tough for seating choices. But we were fine and the baby didn't make a peep. Eat, enjoy, celebrate.More infoUchi HoustonPrice: Very Expensive• Sushi• Montrose•4.9
