Pammy’s is a New American restaurant inspired by the feel of an Italian neighborhood trattoria. Perched between Cambridge’s Central and Harvard Squares, Pammy’s is a cozy yet sophisticated neighborhood destination. For husband and wife team Chris and Pam Willis (who live right up the street), Pammy’s is an extension of their living room. They’ve brought together their love of great food, easy hospitality and chic vibes to create a lively space that is welcoming to all looking for a memorable meal. With dishes that lean heavily on Italian flavors but are not restricted by any rules of the cuisine, the food is unpretentious and delicious. A fireplace wrapped in white ceramic, an oversized salvaged communal table designed for side-by-side dining and rich leather banquets are just some of the design elements that make up Pammy’s charm. We're currently serving a Prix Fixe menu for all reservations. A la carte dining is available for walk-in guests at our bar and in our lounge.

The Merchant is a big space that served for more than a century as a leather store. We've brought in high-top tables near the windows ... a 40-foot bar on one side of the room … and more formal dining spots on the opposite side. We have a private dining room in back, and another private dining room downstairs. For our menu, we make almost all of our fare from scratch. Executive chef Ignacio Lopez previously worked at both Beat Hotel in Cambridge and Tuscan Kitchen in Burlington. Chef Lopez cures and smokes all the meat in house. Our burger is top-notch, as are other dishes like house-made Gnochhi, Organic Chicken Milanaise and Steak Frites. The Merchant serves salads, sandwiches ($15-$21), and more for the lunch rush. And for dinner, we are a full-service brasserie (with most entrees ranging from $25-$30). The bar has 30+ rotating beers on tap, many of them locally brewed, plus a full selection of craft cocktails to serve our patrons, including the after-work crowd.

Just exceptional on all fronts. Felt well-taken care of from the moment we walked through the doors. Food was outstanding and was coursed and timed comfortably. Beverage selection is extensive and staff members are knowledgable about offerings or easily access management to help with suggestions. Never felt rushed but didn't feel like anything was dragging. There's a reason why Eastern Standard had historically been an easy choice for just about any sort of occasion, and our experience in their new location picked right up without skipping a beat.

It’s a new year and A&L’s is holding to the high standards they established. Often Julie and I order different meals so we can enjoy more of a restaurant’s offerings; last night we both immediately ordered the same. Last year A&L’s made a few updates to their menu. One addition was the ribeye cap steak. I acknowledge everyone has their favorite steak; for us it’s always been the ribeye, it’s flavor with the marbling, moisture and texture of ‘the cap’ we find make it ‘the best’. Now A&L’s has the cap as a full steak; we both had it and it is the best steak we have had. For the evenings dining we were very pleased to be able to have Victor’s service. It’s amazing someone so young, energetic and just plain fun brings such exceptional service. In the new year, trying to be good (better…) we focused on one bottle of wine to compliment the meal. Matt brought an outstanding wine (so good we will see if we can find it for home). It was in an excellent price point (this is another area A&L’s excels, a large and varied wine selection from California cab’s everyone knows, to some top French and Italian wines fit for the most important days). Last I’ll say that though we appreciate Victor’s service and Matt’s knowledge and assistance with wine, the management of A&L’s ensures everyone dining can have the same bespoke service. An example is last night as we were enjoying our wine ‘relaxing’ a bit, Chris, a server who’s service we’ve enjoyed in the past, stopped by to just wish us a happy new year. This type of special service throughout are what put A&L’s at the top of Boston’s restaurant’s. Thank you, Bill & Julie

Everything was great and we were in a table in the back nook which was great for catching up with friends because it was quieter. Will request that table again. Loved the cod dish and the wonderful service!

We had a wonderful experience for my boyfriend’s birthday. The waitress was honest and knowledgeable when we asked for his input while ordering steaks. I ordered the Kobe cap medium rare and it came out rare, but it was still delicious. Everything was amazing. We will Definitely be back.
