---The Berghoff Restaurant is a Chicago landmark, serving German-style cuisine and culture since 1898. One of the oldest family-run businesses in the nation, now run by the fourth generation, Pete Berghoff. Today's Berghoff menus have evolved to add newer, lighter, and more contemporary dishes, but it's still the same old Berghoff, down to the famous root beer. In December 2018, the Berghoff family opened Adams Street Brewery, aptly named after the street they have called home for over a century, to nod to their brewing roots and commemorate the restaurant's 120th anniversary.

    The food and service was everything!! We started with the Mississippi catfish dip with house made crackers. Did you hear me, HOUSE MADE CRACKERS!!! It was 🔥! We also had biscuits w/pimento cheese! My hubby's entreè was oxtails and grits. I had lamb chops w/ wjopped mashed potatoes, asparagus aand grilled carrots. The finale dessert for me was"Not Your Mama's Banana Pudding". The ambience, music, and service is top tier!

    Really fun atmosphere & approachable, yet sophisticated environment. Well rounded efficient menu offerings with something for almost everyone. The beers exceeded expectations, and the draft lines were perfectly dialed in. This spot is very much needed in the loop. We will be back.

    Went before seeing Harry Potter and the Cursed Child. Food was great. Goulash, Jager Schnitzel, a beer flight, Berghoff Root Beer and salted caramel cheesecake to end the night. Can’t wait to get back!

    Great place for lunch, staff was amazing and attentive. It’s super quiet so you can have a great conversation without yelling or feeling like you have to scream. The food was delicious and the servings can be large.

    Overall a good place to eat. Tables in the main bar/restaurant are a bit close together so there isn’t a lot of room to move. Our waitress didn’t bring out one of the dishes at all so one person in our party was left eating a starter only. By the time it was noticed everyone else had pretty much eaten.
