We opened our first restaurant in Castlefield, Manchester in 2004 with a clear aim: To deliver quality food to local customers at a reasonable price in a sharp, modern space with friendly, unpretentious service. The Hop Vine formerly the ‘Royal Hotel’ was built in 1874 and was the main stopping off point for goods being transported to and from the old Turnpike road the A59. The Royal as it was known has served the community and travellers alike. To the rear of the building in our historic Cobbled Garden you will find our own brewery housed in the stables which were used for the horses and stage coaches as they passed through the village. From Ales to YPA’s, to Blonde beers we are a small producer using primary English hops brewing exclusively in house for The Hop Vine and our sister pub the Legh Arms.Our countryside sister the Legh Arms is our latest addition to the family and is situated in the pretty hamlet of Mere Brow. Here we serve our trademark delicious home produced quality food and excellent home brewed ales.     Booked for 4 people at 5pm . Nice warm welcome and drinks served quickly before being shown to our table . Nice cosy table ( by the radiator too 🙂) and looked after very well by the staff . Food delivered in a nice steady order and nothing was too much trouble if we needed anything . The girl in charge was funny and entertaining, keeping us happy all the way . We were in there 3 1/2 hrs and it didn’t feel anything like that , proving to be an excellent evening out in the Travellers Rest . Look forward to our next visit soon.
