Thank you for visiting Kenichi Izakaya Carbondale. An Izakaya is a type of informal Japanese pub. At sake breweries during the late 18th century, people in Japan began using sake kegs as stools, and snacks were served. This small plate menu was designed to encourage sharing amongst friends and family. Food is prepared in multiple kitchens and arrives as it is ready to ensure freshness. We make most of our menu in-house, from scratch, and use locally sourced ingredients whenever possible.If no reservations are available, please note that we do have walk in apcae at our bar and sushi bar.     I don’t usually write reviews however this one is well deserved…Wow! Beautiful table in the window overlooking Gore creek…. The food was literally artwork, flavors over the top, the only thing as good as the food was the service! Very reasonable priced for what they provide. Occasionally a Michelin restaurant can leave you a bit hungry, not the case here! Also thankful that they only took reservations 48 hours in advance, otherwise someone visiting for a long weekend would not likely get an opportunity to experience this restaurant. All the Best! Cheers

    I just want to give a huge shoutout to the amazing team at IZAKAYA for an unforgettable experience. The service was absolutely top notch so attentive and welcoming and the food? Out of this world! Every bite was packed with incredible flavors that totally blew us away. From the presentation to the vibe of the place, you can tell there’s so much heart and passion behind it all. Thank you for making our visit so special. We’ll definitely be back soon!
