Restaurants near Madison Shopping Center

Food is always great and that’s sometimes hard to do with such a diverse menu. I personally go the gluten-free route, so ahi tuna sashimi and drunken shrimp are two of my favorites. Our waiter tonight was a bit shy and hard to hear, and he seemed to work at a snail pace. That’s my only real complaint. Waitstaff should energy in a place like this.

Our friend’s meal was delivered cold, but they took it back and brought a new one. Waiter was friendly and very good.

Our overall experience was awesome. We invited 2 couples who have never been to the Blind Owl. This is our 3rd time and we love coming Wed when the jazz group is there. We already have some of the upcoming dates on our calendar and are thinking of whom we should invite to join us. The food (love the Shwarma nachos) and service can't get any better - it was great . The new manager Dominic also visited our table and connected with us. Keep it going!! The one thing I've noticed with new places is over time they loose their quality and edge. don't cheap out!!

I post two reviews for both my visits on Jan 7 and Jan 11, with 5 stars for Jan 7 and one star for Jan 11 to draw attention to the huge contrast between the service level depending on who is running the show that day. In Jan 7th visit I was fortunate to be taken care of by one of the two managers who is a great welcoming person and I am ashamed to say I forgot his name but I guess he has Philippines origin (and not the other manager who was also present on Jan 7 and his name starts with S and was the only manager on Jan 11. Everything was great and among all great people Sal specially was the champion who knew how to cook meat masterfully.

Went with a group of girlfriends after a chili night at the Detroit Zoo Lights. Love the holiday drinks and the food is always amazing. This time Ed had a vegan with us and she loved the variety on the menu. We will be back!
