Restaurants near Mauna Kea Volcano

Our son recommended Merriman’s and it did not disappoint! The margarita was delicious; the smash burger was delicious too. My husband got the soup of the day and the salad and enjoyed them both. Ambiance and our waitress was amazing.

Food was amazing and our waiter, Nathan, was a rock star!

Have long missed the Hilo Hawaiian Buffet since covid. Glad it’s back. Unfortunately price had more than doubled over the years, my retirement hasn’t kept pace so will be enjoying less often. Miss the formerly included wine. Food was good.

We had a delicious meal Oceanside while we watched the sunset. The ambiance was wonderful. You do need to take a train to get there which runs really slow or you can walk. Be sure to get there at least 15 min early to make sure you get to the restaurant on time and take the train that is going towards the left. There was no one to tell us what to do and we had arrived early but took the train in the wrong direction accidentally and were quite late. However they did hold our table. Would definitely dine here again.
