56 West Smithfield was founded by a family of winemakers, with a passion for creating unique, hand-crafted wines. Our family vineyard, Château De La Cômbe, is a small, boutique vineyard in Provence. Having spent years supplying London’s top restaurants through their separate wine businesses, Joe Haynes and Benedict Butterworth have joined forces with Tom Hurst, who has worked at Brawn, The Marksman, Levan, and most recently as Head Chef at Lasdun, to launch the trio’s first restaurant together.Located in a Grade II listed building on Cloth Fair, Cloth Restaurant is part of a historic row of buildings in the City of London that survived the Great Fire of 1666. Down this atmospheric alley opposite St Bartholomew church, Cloth is taking over a double fronted corner site that’s beneath the former home of poet John Betjeman and next door to the two oldest residential buildings in London. Inside, low ceilings, wood floorboards with antique wall lights and artwork create a cosy, intimate atmosphere, while marble tables, long dark wood banquettes, antique crockery and cutlery will create the feel of a classic bistro.

Manicomio City occupies a stunning glass fronted Norman Foster building set over three floors moments from St Paul’s. Situated on Gutter Lane which runs between Cheapside and Gresham Street.This somewhat hidden Italian gem buzzes Monday to Friday from the moment it opens at 8am with nearby workers on the coffee run and business breakfasters. Lunch service from 12pm is lively and Manicomio's spectacular take away counter has proven to be as alluring as the ground floor café itself, and also the two floors of a la cate dining above. Come the afternoon, the ground floor café draws a crowd from early evening drinkers, gradually transforming into an atmospheric candlelit cocktail bar offering aperitifs and snacks before the kitchen starts its dinner service.

    We visited to celebrate my sons 21st. Wow wow and wow Staff are polite, courteous, down to earth and very kind There are lots of staff so you’re not left waiting. They wait on you and treated the kids great also. Food was 10/10 and presentation was lit of this world. Cocktails were amazing. You get the drift, the place is amazing

    Amazing ambiance and great service. Food was nice but not outstanding. Had the beef shin ravioli with the beef fat crumb, that actually tasted like scraps from the fish and chip shop which overpowered the taste of the beef shin. Fantastic wine list.

    Sure! Here’s a polished version of your review for OpenTable: Outstanding Experience at Hawksmoor Guildhall From start to finish, our experience at Hawksmoor Guildhall was exceptional. My best friend and I arrived at 5 PM and were seated in a lovely spot in the restaurant. The service was impeccable throughout, with the staff being attentive yet unobtrusive. We both ordered steak, which was cooked to absolute perfection. The quality of the food, combined with the warm and welcoming atmosphere, made for a truly memorable evening. Although we slightly exceeded our two-hour seating, our server was incredibly accommodating and kindly offered us a spot in the bar so we could continue enjoying our evening without interruption. Hawksmoor never disappoints—whether at Guildhall or any of their locations, they consistently deliver outstanding service, a beautiful setting, and some of the best steaks in the business. Highly recommend!
