Callenders is a modern , casual style dining bistro. From a romantic meal for two, to a celebration dinner for forty. The best of local produce cooked to order for you. We are a country Gastropub owned by farmers. Our farm supplies the beef, lamb and pork and we source other ingredients from local producers where we can. Our small seasonal menu changes regularly reflecting what is available in our area. We pride ourselves on being very much a country pub, offering freshly prepared seasonal food and a warm welcome. We also love offering locally produced drinks, such as gins, rums, ales and wines, giving you the complete taste of Sussex. Our weekend menu is our delicious Asado Grill. Had a great Monday brunch. Good ambience which is often hard to find early in the week, we were glad we had booked although I think there were still a few tables empty. Food was good with ample options for gluten and dairy free intolerances. Staff were delightful and professional. All round great experience with a sea view too. Will definitely return.

Late Sunday afternoon lunch for four. Very efficient and friendly waiter. Excellent value for all roast’s and puddings. We and our friends, who live locally, would happily recommend this restaurant.

The restaurant was really lovely, service was great even though had a badly chipped glass which was rectified straight away. Staff were very friendly. This will be a special occasion venue as it was a little on the expensive side, but can’t fault anything else.
