The late Rocco Diorio was responsible for the fine traditional food and many lasting memories for most of the people in the greater Waterbury area. The restaurant was closed in 1980 and reopened in 1991 after total restoration to its original splendor. The legend continues as we remain true to those endearing memories. We have the original marble bar, over-sized mahogany bankers booths, tin ceiling, and the most impressive acid-etched mirrors displaying historical Waterbury. Diorio Restaurant has once again reclaimed its reputation as Waterbury's finest.

The food was delicious and packed with flavor. The ambience was fantastic; they did a wonderful job with the space, making it beautifully designed and decorated. Our waitress was pleasant, though we did experience a small issue where other staff brought the wrong drinks to our table three times. It was little loud, especially as the music turned up louder after 10pm. Overall, it was a great experience, and the minor issues were easy to overlook since they can be easily fixed.

My first visit there sat at the bar. Chris makes incredible cocktails best I’ve had the food was extraordinary. Service was amazing. Atmosphere was wonderful. Will definitely be coming back repeatedly. Thank you for an incredible evening, Margaret.
