Restaurants near Quality Inn & Suites Alamogordo

A little glitch getting us a table. We had a 6 pm reservation but didn’t have a table ready so they asked us to wait, and then forgot about us. We checked in again when they were seating others who came after us. Once we got to the table the service was friendly and the food and wine were great.

We came to celebrate my wife's birthday while visiting Ruidoso. The hostess was very friendly and quickly made sure to wish my wife a Happy Birthday. We were seated in a section that is tucked away from the restaurant, near the kitchen. I'm not sure if the hostess thought we might want more privacy since it was a birthday but the only downside to this space was that it was very quiet and no music. While my wife was in a celebratory mood, it kind of brought her down since it was so quiet. So something for the restaurant to keep in mind when seating for future birthdays. Overall, our food was very good and we really liked how our steaks were cooked. Our waitress was friendly enough but seemed more about getting the order in then making sure to highlight the birthday celebration (we overheard the hostess tell the waitress). We did get a comped dessert but again, no mention of a happy birthday to make the dinner feel special.

Wendell’s was definitely a wonderful dining experience for us! We have lived here for 10 years and this was our first time visiting. The service was fantastic and the food was delicious! We will definitely be back as regulars.
