Dining at The Old Deanery is an immersive experience, and you move through the building as you dine. Arrive into the cosy welcome lounge for pre-dinner drinks; chat, get comfortable, and relax – there will be no classical piano and hushed tones in here! Move through to the bar where you can watch some of the chefs work before they invite you to take your first course. The main event takes place in the restaurant, but forget white tablecloths and stilted service; the food may be formal but the atmosphere is not.     A most perfect experience. The team at the old deanery strike a really great balance between efficiency, professionalism with a good dose of warmth and can do. The afternoon tea consists beautifully fresh finger sandwiches (we asked for a few more and these were given with pleasure) and a small savoury tartlet, delicious with prawn and dill. Now…. The scones well they are just about the most epic scones, we are still talking about them! Short and crisp top and crumbly unctuous.. even a small shot glass of chocolate ganache which sadly couldn’t be finished due to our expanded waists! Teas, coffee & the most exquisite English sparkling wine were the ideal pairing to this feast. You simply MUST try it ! Thankyou to the whole team
