We came here to celebrate my son’s 21st birthday and it was the perfect venue- food, service(Austin our server was terrific), ambience and vibe were all top notch! One of our party has a nut and shellfish allergy and we were constantly given a lot of reassurance that the kitchen was aware and had removed or separated any problem ingredients. I would thoroughly recommend Animae for a special occasion or just a relaxed and enjoyable dinner. We will be back!

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ 9/10 Dining at Seneca in San Diego felt like stepping into a dream — the atmosphere was enchanting, with breathtaking views and an ambiance that set the stage for an unforgettable evening. Our server, Victor, was nothing short of exceptional. His attentiveness, patience, and thoughtful menu suggestions elevated the entire experience. He navigated the evening with grace, making us feel truly cared for. The only reason this isn’t a perfect 10/10 is that the food took longer than expected to arrive. For a moment, time seemed to stretch — but when the dishes finally graced our table, every bite was a masterpiece. It was a delay we were willing to forgive for such a culinary experience. Seneca isn’t just a restaurant; it’s a destination. I’ll be back — and next time, I’ll be ready to savor every second. 🍷✨

Attentive service w/o being too much. Fun and modern ambiance w/ some touches of warmth - like the fireplace :). Unique menu items and flavors that work together is #1 reason we go. San Diego has some good restaurants but... most restaurants serve the same food as each other - just w/ their twist. I say "So what"? That's boring and I can make most of that food at home for much less and at least equally as good. Herb & Wood has a menu that stands out and the flavors work so well together no matter what we order. Not inexpensive by any means but not taking-advantage-of-you pricing either. High quality, well prepared, and thoughtful menu items with a true connection to "flavor town"! Eggplant, Branzino, Apple/Fig Salad, Hamachi, Date Cake... all winners. It's a special occasion restaurant mostly but I see it as a regular go-to when I crave food that stands out!
