The name Zacatlán surged from the origins of our chef, Eduardo Rodriguez. He was born in Zacatecas, Mexico (north-central Mexico), which is defined as "the habitants of the land where grass grows". Zacatlán is the nahuatl translation for "land with an abundance of grass", and that is where our idea of Zacatlán Restaurant began.     Not only was every dish in the prix-fix menu totally delicious, but the portions were extremely generous... a welcome change from the past! What a lovely dinner! And the extra Yuzu Creamsicle that was served to the birthday girl was an amazing confectionary revelation!

    La Boca has been on our list for awhile. It didnt disappoint. There are actually 2 venues at the same location. The entrance on Marcy is a typical Tapas place. Around the "alley" is a dining venue with live music! We opted for the music. Much fun and of course noisy. Tables are set up for 2 diners very close together like NY or Chicago. No white table cloths here. A small bar and a small stage for the guitarist and drummer. Very "village". Loved it. We shared mussels in a delicious coconut sauce with crusted baguette from Sage. Sandy had a Sangria and I had a seasonal dark beer. Then we shared a paella for one. Very filling. Next time we will try other Tapas dishes!
