- JJeremiahWest Virginia •1 review5.0Dined on Dec 11, 2024Great staff all around. Our server was great! She killed it. The food was exactly what I expected well seasoned and cooked perfectly. We had the market fresh steak from the Charm Farm and you could tell it was fresh locally sourced meat. My wife had the 8 oz fillet and it was also cooked perfectly and tasted great. The Appalachian spring rolls were an amazing starter. Crispy and flavorful with a dipping sauce that accented them very well. Do recommend and will be going back.More infoOxley HousePrice: Moderate• American• Elkins•4.2
- MMelissaRaleigh / Durham / Chapel Hill •4 reviews5.0Dined on Dec 10, 2024I love the upscale yet comfortable feel of this place – very nice, with not your everyday menu choices, but still warm, quaint and cozy. The building is the old city produce exchange and much of it's rich heritage has been well preserved in this lovely restaurant and bar. This was my second visit to The Local Chop & Grill House but my first visit during the holiday season. The Christmas decor was absolutely STUNNING! We are a couple that lives out of state and vacations in the area when we can. My husband and I arrived early, so we enjoyed a drink at the bar, then checked in for our table. The staff was fabulously friendly and attentive - not only at the bar, but also at check in, during and even after our meal. I found it so reassuring that the first question from our server was, "Are there any food allergies or dietary restrictions we should be aware of at your table tonight?" My 16 year old son, who was not with us, has food allergies. In the 16 years that we have taken our son to various r restaurants, this is one of only two restaurants to ever ask us that question. The seasonal menu gives you a glance and taste of local agriculture. I will definitely return to try more dishes. The cauliflower-onion soup was amazing. My husband and I ordered different entree's and sides as he doesn't eat beef and I love my steaks! Neither entree disappointed. Both meats, my filet and his pork chop, were cooked and seasoned to perfection. A personal favorite side dish for me is the Chèvre Mac & Cheese. If you enjoy goat cheese, this dish is a must! The desserts were on point and a perfect ending to a romantic meal for two. Service was slightly slower than expected but it was a busy night and our server was gracious enough to explain the situation and offer more bread, water, or drinks as we chatted.More infoLocal Chop & Grill HousePrice: Very Expensive• Steakhouse• Harrisonburg•4.7
