Jordan Pond House, a restaurant and shop with a long tradition within Acadia National Park, sits on a hill overlooking a beautiful lawn along the Jordan Pond. Guests have been enjoying these amazing views and dining at this site since 1893 when Nellie McIntire, the first proprietor, started baking and serving her famous popovers out of the restaurant. Ever since then, we have been serving popovers and tea.Please note: Reservations may be made for inside dining only. Due to weather variability, we are unable to accommodate reservations for the lawn.     I love this restaurant, but the last few visits there’s been a problem with the food temperature. I had short ribs and my short ribs were impeccable. The temperature was perfect, but all the other pieces with it ….the purée,the carrots and the potatoes were all cool. They were not anywhere near warm enough so they’ve got to figure that out…. maybe warming up the plates? On my last visit my soup was cool and I should’ve sent it back, but of course the dishes are so beautifully plated and the soup had decorations on top, but I’m not the only one that has had a problem with temperature. I was at lunch with a friend and she had the same problem with her soup so the cook must get a plan. I can’t be the only one that’s having problems with the food temperature.

    Definitely a fine experience! The food, service, the atmosphere were all you’d expect from a world class restaurant. Everyone was accommodating and friendly. Wish we could dine here on a regular basis!

    It took a month to get in and it was worth it. I had frequented the pond house when I was young (35 yrs ago) and I had been wanting to get back. It was as good as I remember. Staff got us in earlier than our reservation time, waitstaff were friendly and welcoming and the popovers and jam are the best I’ve had! Definitely worth the visit/experience.
