• Teppanyaki • Gakugei Daigaku / Toritsu Daigaku
Prominent people from all walks of life have praised the flavours of these homely earthy dishes, given an upgrade and served in a diner setting, since the restaurant was established in 1989. The restaurant provides a high level of service, keeping it friendly enough to comply with customers’ special requests. The diner interior, a modern contemporary space, orange with glass and stainless steel highlights, makes a stylish setting for teppanyaki hotplate grill dishes and okonomiyaki savoury pancakes. The open air terrace, the bar stocked with over one hundred types of cocktails, champagne, wine, shochu and sake, and the large and small private rooms, ensure that the restaurant is able to deal satisfactorily with a wide range of customer requirements. Recently the restaurant has been recommended to many international visitors by local hotel concierges, and in 2008 Jinroku Pacific opened in Waikiki, Hawaii. Jinroku is popular with both locals and visitors from around the world.

I enjoyed dinner with two other friends. The restaurant was full of guests from foreign countries, and they all seemed to enjoy the atmosphere. The food was excellent, especially the sashimi plate. I wish they had a free-flow drink plan, but other than that, we enjoyed it.

One of the best meals I’ve ever had and I’ve eaten at 1-3 star Michelin restaurants, at Four Seasons restaurants over the past 25+ years and many other restaurants, bistros, cafes and holes-in-the-wall along the way. This is by far the best sushi/sashimi/sake experiences I’ve ever had and in the top 3 meals I’ve ever had. Dinner was our last night in Tokyo, after 18 days in Asia. It was for me and my son (23). Small, intimate restaurant (maybe 20 seats?!). We sat at the counter and ordered the tasting menu with sake tasting/pairing. Each course was better than the next. The hospitality was inviting and the service was impeccable. The room was discreet. I cannot speak more highly about this dining experience. Run, don’t walk. Make it a stop every time you go to Tokyo. It’s that good. Thank you to the team for a very special night.

Very expensive, but then its Kobe Steak. Spartan private cubicle each, excellent service. Ordered al la cart- 400g ribeye about$350……ordered nigiri , one rice, one fries , 3 glasses wine….. bill about$500 We felt the wine was a small amount, and the “veg “ that we paid extra for was absurdly small.. It was all about the experience of eating Kobe steak and we loved it as it was a very special occasion.
