The building is a fine example of Early American Dutch rubble architecture featuring wide planked random width board floors, a fire place in each of the main rooms and many small multi-level rooms.The Hoffman House is located at the corner of the historic Stockade district in Kingston NY, and once served as fortification and a lookout. Today the Hoffman House serves a continental fare, featuring steaks, fresh seafood, pasta specialties and homemade artisan desserts. The food was delicious and the service was excellent! I liked the appetizer so much that I was given a copy of the recipe to take home. The students who work as servers and hostesses were extremely friendly and genuinely happy to be working there. I would highly recommend the restaurant for a special and/or every day occasion. The fixed price menu offered during the week was reasonably priced and provided three delicious courses (app, dinner, and dessert.)
