The Hop Vine formerly the ‘Royal Hotel’ was built in 1874 and was the main stopping off point for goods being transported to and from the old Turnpike road the A59. The Royal as it was known has served the community and travellers alike. To the rear of the building in our historic Cobbled Garden you will find our own brewery housed in the stables which were used for the horses and stage coaches as they passed through the village. From Ales to YPA’s, to Blonde beers we are a small producer using primary English hops brewing exclusively in house for The Hop Vine and our sister pub the Legh Arms.Our countryside sister the Legh Arms is our latest addition to the family and is situated in the pretty hamlet of Mere Brow. We opened our first restaurant in Castlefield, Manchester in 2004 with a clear aim: To deliver quality food to local customers at a reasonable price in a sharp, modern space with friendly, unpretentious service. We have pursued that goal ever since and it has earned us many loyal customers. Our menu is probably classed as British with some additional favourites from Italy and around the globe.     Great menu, lots of choice, something for everyone. Reasonable wine list. Service was excellent, very attentive and helpful. Atmosphere and all of the Christmas decorations both superb, the whole hotel looks beautiful, so tastefully decorated, thank you for a lovely evening to celebrate my mum’s 80th birthday.

    We visited for the £14.94 for two courses lunch. There was a fantastic number of dishes to suit all tastes and specific diets. Each course tasted amazing and the service was first rate with very quick, efficient and very friendly service. Our waitress Jackie was so bright and cheery and was a breath of fresh air. It was my partners first visit to Alberts, Standish and he now says it's his new favourite. Amazing value for such superb food we will be returning very soon.

    Staff are excellent. The roast dinner was excellent, the beef just melted in the mouth and the veg and roast potato’s wer wonderful. Definitely coming back. Thanks

    Food was good and came out quickly, Joe was helpful with reccomendations for beer, cask was good just wish there was a little more range but they said that's getting bigger soon. Overall great evening and would 100% reccomend!
