Hamrock's Restaurant is located within the Moore-McCandlish House (built 1842) in the heart of historic Fairfax City. We've been proud to serve delicious made-to-order American dishes using fresh ingredients since our establishment in 2016. We also have a wonderful hand-selected wine list to enhance your dining experience. Approximately eighty-percent of our menu is-- or can be-- gluten-free, as we use only canola and olive oil in all of our cooking. Some of our best-selling dishes are our southern fried chicken, grilled meatloaf, and crab cakes-- all which are gluten free! Other menu favorites include our deviled eggs, firecracker shrimp, Atlantic grilled salmon, roasted pork tenderloin, and penne pasta with andouille sausage & shrimp. We have beautiful year-round outdoor seating options on our wrap around porch (we have heaters!) In the warmer months, we also open our courtyard.     It was our first time going for my mom’s birthday, and honestly, it was a very nice experience. The service was excellent, the food was delicious, and our waitress, Susana, was extremely kind and knowledgeable about the menu. She gave us many recommendations, which helped make our experience the best.

    This was my first visit here and I chose it because of its gluten free options, which they had more than average. Everything we ordered was delicious. The fire shrimp appetizer, the lobster bisque, the lamb chops, the crab cakes, the potatoes au gratin, and the star, the flourless chocolate cake. I didn’t have high expectations but was pleasantly blown away and I can’t wait to come back here the next time I am in town. The service was a little spotty and slow but like I said, I’ll be back and can’t wait to try more gf items! What a gem in the middle of Fairfax!
