Libertad is a casual, chef-driven neighborhood restaurant featuring Latin American inspired cuisine.


Executive Chef Mark Mendez, whose experience includes Chicago’s most notable restaurants, pairs bold and exciting flavors for a seasonal menu of small plates ideal for sharing and experiencing the diverse mosaic of the countries that make up Latin America.


Noted mixologist Ziyad Asrar has put together a fun and creative cocktail menu while Sommelier Shebnem Ince compiled a succinct wine list that complements the menu with by the glass and bottle selections.

    Food was good. Really good bread. Shrimps melded well with bread. The only problem was we asked for the hummus to come first and it cam with the Brussel sprouts so Brussel sprouts were cold when we got to them.

    Food is amazing! I would definitely go again. The only issue is the place is looking very used and the layout is becoming sloppy. Examples: They have all their stored silverware, plates, condiment jars showing right in front of where you eat, the lights to the grills are so bright and shine onto the tables and the bathrooms have chipping paint, caulking around the sink is broke. Again, still a wonderful place and recommend but I wish they would maintain it a little better.

    My absolute favorite restaurant in the city and suburbs. The chef was truly exceptional everything was very delicious and the atmosphere was great. Every time I've come here it's been wonderful I can't recommend Libertad enough.

    Still have never had any plate that was less than wonderful . The variety of proteins and availability of nonmeat courses is excellent. Attentive service and about a dozen varied signature cocktails make the dining experience very enjoyable.

    Every dish we had was fantastic. Very flavorful . Loved their watercress Berros salad and the burrata fish dish. Music level was a bit too loud. Waiter was great although the rest of the service could use more training. Overall, great place
