It all began with a love story and a dream. Linwood, a chef, and Ellen, a reporter, met 36 years ago in a restaurant of course! They married and began to envision that someday they would open a restaurant of their own. The restaurant’s first business plan was written at their dining room table on an electric typewriter. In 1988 Linwoods opened its doors, and it has been a labour of love for more than thirty years.

Linwoods’ cuisine consists of the freshest ingredients, and inventive preparation. Our service is warm and attentive. We have developed a reputation for consistency an attention to detail. These qualities are key to our catering business as well. Our team has worked hard to connect to our community, and we value our customers. These values have been central to Ellen and Linwood’s vision, and we hope are felt by our customers each day.

    Besides delicious cuisine, style and service, Linwoods Catering can offer its clients expertise and experience. This comes from almost twenty years of catering events from small celebrations at home to galas for thousands. Linwoods has catered weddings, mitzvahs, corporate events, charity balls, and openings. Our goal is to make our clients happy and relaxed, to provide special menus tailored to your style within your price range. We can also connect you to other reliable vendors, who will help make your event spectacular.

    Linwoods' delicious cuisine, style and service can also be experienced during catered events held at our facility. There are two private rooms, one that seats up to 20 people "Private Dining Room", and "Due", which seats up to 120. "Due" also has the capacity to hold about 150 for cocktails and buffet. There is an outdoor area that can be tented. These areas can accommodate entertainment and a dance floor. These spaces are lovely for weddings, parties, corporate events and meetings, as well as social gatherings.

We went for Valentine’s Day and the atmosphere was fantastic!! The restaurant was crowded but they handled it real well and made our night very special 😊

                                                                                  We found no one at the greeter's stand when we got to the restaurant to seat us, the first time in many years of being a guest at this very fine restaurant. We had a great waitress who had taken care of me and my friend on prior occasions, and she was very attentive and pleasant again. My only complaint was not about the $39 price for a crab cake, as crabmeat is very expensive these days and is only increasing in price, but the amount of filler was not acceptable. If they need to charge even more than $39 for a single crabcake, then do so but do not adulterate their crab cake by making it filler with crab meat instead of the other way around.

                                                                                  Desserts amazing, the fries were a little limp but the mashed potatoes were nice. You have to try the scallops! And the service was exceptional! Definitely would come back.
