What a kitschy and camp local Hamilton spot! Went to the Hess village location (be warned, there are two locations so make sure you show up to the right one). It was a lovely birthday dinner and not many diners so felt very private. For vibes, think jetsons meet 1960’s dinner meets a manic pixie dream girl! Plus, free dessert for the bday girl. The food was great, highly reccomend the kimchi fries x

There is a great food variety that everyone with find something good to eat. They serve comfort food with a good variety of pastas, some curries, salads and other meat dishes. All the food that we ate that evening was great tasting and reasonably priced. They have a good drink menu with many beers on tap and bottled, ciders and a good selection of wine. The service was good and the food was delivered hot. It is a very large restaurant with ample seating and you do not feel like the tables are too close to each other. If you are in the area the Hothouse is worth visiting.

My husband and I enjoyed a lovely dinner tonight. We were seated by the window with a view of the river. Our Server Michelle was very personable and attentive. We both thoroughly and I mean thoroughly enjoyed a 7oz Tenderloin served with potato pave, roasted onion, spinach purée and bordelaise. OMGoodness was it good! Kudos to the Chef! We had tea and shared a Chocolate Ganache, totally decadent but the portion was very tiny and we could have each had one wink wink. There was 1 downfall with zero fault of the restaurant, the table beside is was uber loud and the perfume worn by one of the women was totally nauseating and affected my allergies. Fortunately, they were seated a few minutes before we left.

Great tea selection and it was great that I could try different kinds of teas in the same visit. I had three kinds! Tea is made at the kitchen counter in glass pot to perfect coulour, leaves are removed before brought to table. Therefore it doesn’t becomes too strong until the last drop of pot. We all had a great time. Our server Mary was so friendly, helpful, and accommodating. The food all came out in a timely manner for our group of 23 and the place had enough background noise to seem busy but wasn't overly loud so we didn't have to shout over the noise to converse with our dinner guests. We have always loved sole but now we love sole even more. Sole is our number one choice for dining in kw. Jason and staff have done an exceptional job with the transformation and we are thrilled with the quality of the service, the food is incredible and the ambience of the restaurant is so improved - warm and inviting yet classy. Great job to the service staff and kudos to the chef and culinary team for always delivering top notch flavours and dishes that delight.

One of my favourite restaurants in the city to go to catch up with friends. The restaurant itself is beautiful, the food exceptional and the service is typically impeccable. Our appetizer order got missed today, but they more than made up for it, with a complimentary appetizer to take home and an absolutely delicious dessert. Would not hesitate to go back or recommend. We were there 3.5 hours and we're never rushed.

The service was top notch and all the staff were so friendly and helpful. We were meeting to catch up and chat over brunch and we probably overstayed our welcome, however, not once did we ever feel rushed and made sure to thank the staff for letting us hang out to finish our visit! We enjoyed a nice Christmas meal with close friends at Charcoal. Caitlyn did an excellent job as our server and was friendly, polite and attentive. The food was really tasty and I really enjoyed the beef wellington. It was a very pleasant way to celebrate the holidays.
