The new menu for lunch includes new and reasonably priced meals. I had the tomato bisque and grilled chicken wrap. Delicious! I was very intrigued with a new summer salad offering - watermelon with cucumbers, mint, sesame seed, almond, dabs of wasabe and a citrus vinegarette - so I got one to go and I'm savoring it by eating half yesterday and the other half today. It's so refreshing and light. A wonderful addition to the menu.

The Mockingbrd calls itself a diner. But inside, it feels more like a hipster cafe you would find in Brooklyn, with white marble tabletops, trendy teal booths, and gigantic windows. This creates a bright, sunlit, and cheery atmosphere. The menu features global fare. One of the most popular menu items at The Mockingbird is the $2 tacos, available on Tuesdays from 4pm to 10pm at their weekly "Tiki Taco Tuesday." There are five creative taco options including Kale Seitan (with al pastor seitan), Barbarbarbarbarbacoa (with shredded beef), Holy Mole! (with mole chicken), Pig Latin (with pork carnitas), and El Mushroom (with roasted mushrooms). Wash down a taco with a $5 tiki drink, available only on Tuesdays. Some of the other highlights at the restaurant include their tacos, which are either yellowfin tuna mini tacos, served on a wonton taco shell with ginger sticky rice, or fish tacos, served on tortillas with shredded cabbage and mango jalapeno salsa. Diners can find a range of other delicious eats at Saltine, like the hushpuppies with pimento cheese, salt and peper calamari, and po'boys. Saltine serves lunch, dinner, and brunch on Sundays.

We had a table of seven for a special event on a Friday afternoon. We booked an open table, but had to change the time twice because the event went longer than we anticipated. They were able to see this with no problem. Our server, Taylor, was awesome. The food was good, too.
