Food was amazing, really appreciate those we interacted with from the front area for check in to being given water/drinks to lastly being served. And the personal touch from the chef on the fried green tomato with salsa... Simply delicious) Thanks for a great birthday dinner!!!

Nothing matches the flavor of food grilled over mesquite. Try wood-fired Texas quail swaddled in homemade tortillas, jalapeno rellanos stuffed with house-made chorizo and sizzling, family-style parrilladas - huge mixed platters of wild game and fresh vegetables, topped with pico de gallo and queso fresco - a unique spin on Houston barbeque.

Our days begin roasting chilies and tomatoes, rolling fresh tortillas in our bakery and wringing every last drop of Ruby Red grapefruit for cocktails. We hand-grind our own sausage and hand-trim every ounce of meat in our butchery, then anoint it with the savory seasonings and marinades we've honed over generations.

A few margaritas on our patio and you've found your new casa sweet casa.

The rib eye was perfectly cooked - medium rare. Brussel sprouts are fabulous! And the service was incredible. The owner came by and welcomed us, which was a very nice touch. My friend from Houston - I was visiting had never been, but will definitely be back. As will I next time I’m in town. I have my eye on the sticky toffee pudding!

She was known to make bread from scratch every Saturday for her legendary three-hour Sicilian Sunday lunches; and, her newly established family roots in Louisiana added interesting flavors to her home cooked meals. The entire Mandola family, including her five children and fourteen grandchildren, was regularly greeted in her home with smells of warm bread, well brewed sauces and homemade soups. It was around her table that her family learned the true meaning and value of relationships, friendships and good food.

We celebrated our dearest friends from England’s birthday and it was wonderful . We had been there many many years ago when it was the Rainbow Lodge. The grounds are beautiful and the staff were excellent. Thank you Emily for making the evening special. You were the best! We missed the little raccoons but will return to try again in the near future.
