Manalu is a new authentic Italian restaurant by Chef/Owner Marco Pontecorvo. The name was to combine all three of his family members names. MA for Marco, NA for Naomi, his daughter, and LU for Lucia, his wife. Manalu's goal is to bring a taste of Italy and a touch of Naples in the town, by serving authentic Italian cuisine and the original pizza Napoletana cooked in a brick oven. The atmosphere is very cozy and warm, perfect for family and friends. Manalu` also has a full bar and happy hour Mon-Fri from 4pm to 7pm. Happy hour also includes a food menu with delicious appetizers.

Our food choices were excellent. My companion likes eggplant but not mozzarella; the kitchen prepared a very good parmigiana without mozzarella and gave him freshly grated Parmesan at the table to add. The eggplant was tender not mushy and not chewy. I enjoyed the mussels in white wine sauce with spaghetti. The pasta was perfectly prepared. I appreciate the delicious and generous bread basket served with seasoned olive oil. Service was professional and pleasant, attentive but not intrusive. On a Monday evening the restaurant was packed; the inside noise level was high. We chose the enclosed patio which was still fairly noisy but more much more comfortable. We finished our meal with a shared Grandmother cake - more like a tart and delicious and house made lemon cello.

Its a tough reservation so we dined at 5:15 but enjoyed our drinks and salads, champagne vinaigrette was excellent. A dozen oysters from the north west was a new experience and they were very tasty. My wife loved her ribeye and the rosemary potatoes. Jamie took great care of us throughout our experience.

Service took long and portions were small but the food was good
All of our CIRCA restaurants are neighborhood bistros serving delicious food and drinks. Each CIRCA is warm, inviting, and offers an energized social scene.
