Amazing place, food was very tasty (wish the portions were bigger but that's just my appetite). I managed to spill my drink but the staff was fast and attentive. Everything was cleaned up and I was very grateful for this wonderful experience. Great restaurant, amazing staff, pleasant ambience and fantastic view.

Alo is an intimate contemporary French restaurant located atop a heritage building in downtown Toronto. Our cuisine is internationally inspired and celebrates the finest in seasonal ingredients paired with a genuine sense of welcome, served as a blind tasting menu by Chef Patrick Kriss.

The Bar at Alo is adjacent to our main dining room and offer à la carte options as well as a shortened seasonal tasting menu.

One of the most incredible meals I have ever had. I have visited over 8 Michelin-star restaurants in my lifetime, and each place has its own unique way of doing things, but Alo is a step above the rest in Toronto in my book. From the service to the food, everything was exceptional. The food for the price was incredible as well. We were stuffed by the end of it, and they celebrated my mother's birthday properly. I loved it all and give huge props to our server, too. Plus, as a suggestion, get the Mascato for dessert, it's the best we have ever had.

Alobar Yorkville is one of the best places to dine in Yorkville. The ambiance, the service and delicious dishes are always exceptional. The cocktails and ever growing wine list is also very notable. One of my favourite places in the city.
Alobar Yorkville is tucked along a pathway in Toronto’s Yorkville neighbourhood. It puts its foot forward as a cocktail bar, but it is a full-fledged Michelin recommended à la carte restaurant, offering choice seafood with the finest accoutrements, fish and chops off of the charcoal grill, and world-class wines, all served with genuine hospitality. Our aim is to deliver an extraordinary and immersive dining experience where the servers guide guests through an exploration of many small plates highlighting seasonal ingredients while offering insight into each dish. We also offer an optional wine pairing and are able to accommodate many dietary restrictions with advance notice.

Azura was a complete delight to all my senses. The ambience and service were spectacular and the cuisine extraordinary. Azura certainly deserves 1 if not 2 michelin stars, I was delighted at my experience and the personal service and storytelling from the sommelier and chef who walked me through his locally-sourced spectacular ingredients had me captivated the whole time. Bar Vendetta distinguishes itself in a space that had previously been a fairly iconic restaurant, The Black Hoof, with a beautiful (and imposing) Douglas fir ‘glass canopy’ and a completely different, 70s colour scheme, modelled (very loosely) on Jen's teen basement bedroom in Scarborough. Nothing says 70s like brown, orange and cream! We didn’t want it to scream ‘Italian restaurant’ because frankly it’s only Italian-ish, using the philosophies of Italian cooking with locally available ingredients and a strong devotion to seasonality. Our pastas all made in house, by long-time chef, Annalisa Latavo and our front of house team is simply a dream! The sort of secret treehouse-feeling back patio is hugely popular in the summer, but we think of it as the perfect restaurant for a colder evening, cozy for tucking into a beautiful plate of pasta, with one of your favourite songs playing while you have a very nice Italian red.

It’s also going to signal a little bit of steakhouse, but not too much. And finally, it will look behind itself at the Black Hoof, which you will see reflected in James Santon’s menu here and there. In terms of vibe, the main floor is ‘everything’s gone green’, with lush comfortable banquette seating, warm wood, and barstools designed for long conversations over many cocktails. Our server explained the menu and answered all our questions. When we asked her what the house specialty was, she said " warm oysters". They were flavorful and definitely warm (which we were not accustomed to), give it a try but we wouldn't order it again. From start to finish everything was delicious. It was super busy for a Tuesday night but the noise level was moderate and ambience was mature, business casual and in general a good vibe ! Thanks for making a 50th birthday dinner special :)

The current menu is ok. I’ve had wonderful meals here but I think we were a bit underwhelmed with what we ordered. I don’t think this is a criticism of the food quality , just that the menu fell a bit flat for us. Looking forward to giving it another try soon.

The current menu is ok. I’ve had wonderful meals here but I think we were a bit underwhelmed with what we ordered. I don’t think this is a criticism of the food quality , just that the menu fell a bit flat for us. Looking forward to giving it another try soon.

Myself and a couple of friends dined here for the first time for a birthday get together. The room is beautifully designed and the bar is a gorgeous feature on the main level- I think we would sit there next time. We had the broccolini, a portobello pizza and the mussels, each dish was delicious. The cocktails were really nice too and our server was great with modification requests on my friends cocktail. They also have a long list of mocktails that sound delicious which I thought was great. The service was very good with helpful recommendations. All of us said we would dine here again.

Our head chef/owner has a Sardinian background and brings you cuisines from the Sardinian region, amongst other regions of Italy. From the bread, desserts, pastas and sauces, there are no preservatives and we even pick from our own garden when we can. What an incredible meal! The artistry was evident in each of the prix fixe courses -- 8? We did not realise what an outstanding culinary experience we were in for, adolescents and adults included, over three lovely hours. We are especially grateful that Ugly Duckling was able to accommodate our party's various food restrictions (vegetarian, GF, DF, etc.). The chef has the wonderful routine of coming out of the kitchen to explain each course, and we loved the incredible care chef and other staff showed for the cuisine and guests.
