We went to celebrate our daughter’s defense of her PhD dissertation. We arrived early for our reservation and had drinks in the bar. Get the mango mojito!!!! Delicious!!!! We were seated for our reservation and had a view outside with the falling snow- so pretty . We were dining early , so several of our party took advantage of the fixed price menu that gave you a starter, entree and dessert for a very reasonable price. Coconut shrimp was delicious- the rice did have a little spice to it. Cajun shrimp and linguine with shrimp and artichoke were also delicious. Very generous shrimp portions. The butternut squash soup was delicious - thick and creamy. Our daughter ordered the seared scallops with risotto- to die for! And I had the applejack sea bass that was also delicious. Rodney was a wonderful server. Will definitely be going back.

The Caucus Club, located in the Penobscot Building, is an historic, stylish art deco masterpiece featuring two distinct dining spaces, historic bar and live Jazz. This place is a Detroit classic. We visited on a quiet mid-week night and the service was excellent. We shared the Fritto Mixto Di Pesce alla Italiana appetizer and we both agreed it was excellent (particularly the shrimp). My wife had the Pollo El Barzon and thought it was very good. I had the Kiss Pasta and it was truly outstanding. The sauce on that pasta was absolutely tremendous. We shared a slice of vanilla cake with Limoncello for dessert which we thought was good, but not great (perhaps more Limoncello would be better, from our perspective). Overall, we had a great time and we will return. Thank you El Barzon!

My experience at Benihana‘s on Valentine’s Day was outstanding. The food and service were great, but there was a severe parking problem. To be honest, there was no available parking slots around the restaurant. I’m not sure what they could’ve done to alleviate the problem? The only other issue was, it was difficult to understand the chef, there appeared to be a slight language problem. Overall, I was very satisfied and enjoyed the evening.

Food was wonderful. Atmosphere was a louder than expected on day after Valentine’s Day. Some of the steak was too chewy. Chicken and vegetables was good. Service was horrible. Salad came to the table twice prepared incorrectly. Server rarely visited our table. The booth next to us received 5 star service and we wish we had that server.
