Founded by former Ziegfield girl Helen Gallagher and the colorful gambler and sports enthusiast Jack Solomon, Gallaghers opened as a speakeasy and steakhouse in 1927. At that time, the height of Prohibition, a good stiff drink and a great steak were hard to find in New York – except, of course, at Gallaghers.

The food was delicious. We had the omelet, and they made it to our liking. Not disappointed. I give an A++. The waiter was very accommodating to our request, and even took the time to take a photo of us at the table. I gave him a great tip. I also give him an A++. I am a regular customer, and eaten at the restaurant several times. I love their chocolate martini! Totally recommend! That drink gets an A+++++! Leaves me smiling and happy!

Let me tell you that TAO is the spot to go for all occasions. This is my fifth time going to TAO specifically for me and my husband’s anniversary and everything was done to perfection. The service was amazing and the food is always on point. Even when we ordered dessert it was the best thing to top off the night. Anyone that is looking to eat amazing food with an amazing view should definitely go to TAO. Trust me you won’t ever forget the experience ❤️

I went to Maggiano’s with my mom and two sisters. We chose to try the Family Meal experience and it was amazing to say the least. It was a lot of food and we could barely finish the dishes we were presented with. My favorite thing on the menu was the Italian meatballs. My mom is usually a harsh critic when it comes to food but she stated that the food was great and she would definitely like to come back. Our server, Jorge, was so great; he was kind and attentive even though he was extremely busy with other customers. All in all it was a very pleasant experience and we will definitely be back soon.

The Benihana experience is always great! We had a private room which was fantastic so we could hear each other talk as well as enjoy the Hibachi Chef. Our nephew had so much fun watching the Chef do all the tricks. This is the original Benihana restaurant so the prices are suitable and all the courses were delicious. I personally had the sirloin steak and shrimp which were juicy and delicious.

Started with the Hot Huntington sushi roll which was one of the best sushi rolls I’ve ever had. Really enjoyed the truffle burger with perfectly cooked French fries. My son enjoyed the short rib pasta. Service was spot on.

The food was outstanding and the service was excellent. Everyone in our party loved the fig and prosciutto flatbread and I also highly recommend the steak, which we tried with both the bleu cheese and horseradish crusts. We also tried the holiday themed cranberry mocktail and spiked egg nog and both were great. Redstone will be a place we return to again!

A night out before a show. Most of us have never been to Grappa. We decided to give grappa, the drink, a try. Our amazing waiter, Ryan, gave us a great education about grappa. It wasn't what we anticipated, and we were still curious, so he offered us all a tasting. The food came quick and was plenty to share and take some home. It was a little chilly, but other than that, it was a great place for a fun dinner.

We LOVED the decor and ambiance of this spot. All the little details were very endearing. The crab cake was delicious , filet pretty good , goose fat potatoes needed more seasoning , drunken mushrooms were good, as well. Everyone we encountered staff wise weee friendly and helped celebrate my daughter’s birthday . Our waiter not so much, he was kind of condescending and seemed to have a sarcastic or dry personality. We did enjoy our experience overall though.

We had dinner at Cafe Altro Paradiso last night and it was outstanding. The service was excellent, the staff friendly, and the food wonderful. The place was packed, and the noise level could, at times, be a little overwhelming, but all of us thought it was great and intend to go there the next time we're in town.

Over the years we have kept coming back for more at one of the finest restaurants in New York city, Cucina 8 ½. The restaurant is extraordinary in so many ways. The food is delicious with its Mediterranean favorites and imaginative creations that are delivered to tables by a dedicated staff seeking to provide an inviting and warm welcome to all. You get the feeling that they will truly attend to every diner’s individual needs and make any occasion a happy one from start to finish… from brilliant cocktails to perfect desserts. A remarkable restaurant to which we have been bringing our friends to celebrate big moments or casual lunches. Each time and each situation was a better experience than the last. And so it is with so much sadness we were told yesterday that the restaurant was closing in a few days. New Years Eve. We were devastated when the restaurant manager, Liz Dugan, told us of the doors were shutting. One of the most compelling reasons we ate at Cucina was because Liz made us feel truly excited about the dining experience we were about to have. At the bottom of the staircase, she always greeted us with a brilliant smile and kind words. She seemed so interested in what we were doing since last we came and the curiosity that she expressed seemed utterly genuine. She would intrigue us with experimental cocktails of the day, provide recommendations for items on the menu and make each dish sound fantastic. She was masterly not only with customers but with running the ship… seating diners , checking on tables, navigating the front and back of the house, sorting things with the chef, and chit chatting along the way that made everyone feel a part of the Cucina 81/2 family.
